Experience is the best teacher...

On this page I'll include some of my tips and tricks I've learned while doing my hobby. Where appropriate, I'll include steps or pictures to help clarify my explanations.

Please feel free to contribute your own tips - I'll post the best ones so everyone can see them.

Here's an example of a tip I might include in a hobby site about cooking.

Tip 1: Images

That old photograph, daguerreotype, or other image has been exposed to the ultraviolet of sunlight, gnawing mice, chemicals stored nearby, the heat of attics, the moisture of basements, and Lord knows what else.   Run don't walk to the nearest library archivist or museum curator and ask them how to stabilize, protect and preserve your priceless treasure.

Make sure accurate date and any notes or annotations are kept with the image.

Tip 2: Documents

Fragile written or printed documents need the kind of care referred to in tip #1.images .  Paper will crumble to dust without precautions.   Wear white gloves when handling.
